We serve a variety of populations, with a current emphasis in teens, young adults, middle aged women, and perinatal work. Minimum Qualification Requirements

  • Master’s Degree or Doctoral Degree in Mental Health Counseling, Social Work, Marriage and Family, or Psychology
  • Active and unrestricted clinical license (PhD, PsyD, LCSW, LMFT, LMHC) in the state of Florida. A copy of license must be provided to Seaside Counseling Center
  • Available for at least 22 hours per week, to hold at minimum 15 patient sessions per week, held in the offices of Seaside Counseling Center, as well as through at home/remote tele-therapy platforms
  • Work hours and schedule may vary depending on clients and Seaside Counseling Center needs. Therapists are not guaranteed a minimum number of clients or sessions per week. 

Here’s what we expect from our clinicians:

  • Be properly licensed and abide by all laws, rules, regulations, and codes of ethics that are binding upon or applicable to the services performed for Seaside Counseling Center.
  • Perform outpatient clinical counseling services to clients of Seaside Counseling Center, as scheduled, and in accordance with company policies.
  • Regularly evaluate mental health diagnoses and determine diagnoses as clinically appropriate. 
  • Create and implement treatment plans that are congruent with client mental health goals
  • Maintain proficient clinical documentation including completion of progress and/or psychotherapy notes by the end of each work day. 
  • Respond to clients’ requests for service or calls within 24 hours (preferably as soon as possible) whether such requests are made in person, by phone, voicemail, etc. or through the Seaside Counseling Center website. Respond to such requests by meeting, evaluating, and providing services to such clients. 
  • Communicate with a client’s treatment team (i.e., PCP, psychiatrist, school, etc.) if clinically necessary and appropriate, to maximize client success. 
  • Regular and reliable attendance and timely arrival to work is required. 
  • Attend and participate in all required clinical staff meetings and trainings. 
  • Reports to Seaside Clinical Lead, Kim Norwicz, and Owner, Rachel Cohen.

This job is for you if you are: 

  • Someone with ample experience with diagnoses, treatment plans, and clinical case notes.
  • Someone with effective written and verbal communication skills with clients and leadership. 
  • Someone with the ability to demonstrate and model stable, appropriate boundaries with clients. 
  • Someone comfortable and familiar with working authentically with a diverse client base. 
  • Someone who is creative in their chosen interventions to help clients achieve and exceed their goals. 
  • Someone who is proficient in the use of typical office technology (computers, email, phone apps, etc) and Electronic Health Records systems.
  • Someone with the ability to pass an all-inclusive background check.
  • Someone who brings an additional treatment specialty. Examples include: trauma, couples, EMDR, eating disorders, varying age groups, groups, retreats, etc.
